Delphi Automotive : the first supplier member of Auto-ISAC 2016-05-12
Delphi Automotive has become an Auto-ISAC supplier member, it is one of t=its expansion marks besides the core membership of vehicles manufacturers to include line one suppliers.
Tom Stricker, the organization’s chair of Toyota said “they were pleased to have Delphi corporate in the proactive efforts of Auto-ISAC, the conception and the engineering work of auto components provided by suppliers is really important for the vehicle safety and that’s where the Delphi’s membership role resides; by helping to produce more advanced models with more sophisticated protections.
Auto-ISAC was founded in July 2015 in a collective attempt to set a base to treat cyber threats, it operates as a principal hub that permits members to submit and get information anonymously in an effective way. Auto-ISAC members are for now over 98 percent of light duty in North America.
Jeff Owens, the Delphi chief technology officer said: “Our membership in Auto-ISAC demonstrates our commitment to the auto industry to holistically address cyber security. We bring multiple layers of knowledge to the initiative by considering all aspects of an interconnected vehicle and associated brought-in and embedded technology including software, hardware and the architecture that connects the vehicle to ensure a safe and secure driving environment and we look forward to collaborate to develop cyber security protections”.
