Scandal VW- about 180.000 VW diesel motors were harmed in Switzerland. AMAG’s importer is the main Volkswagen supplier of the country and it just started the recall of some designes.
Amag, the general supplier of Volkswagen group in Switzerland has announced early this Wednesday that he has started to fix the damaged motors of the VW cars registered in the country, a work that would take a year to be done.
For now, Amag is focussing on Amarok designs of the manufacturer according to his statement. The recall campaign has begun as it was planned with Amarok’s pick up equipped with 2 liter diesel motors.
It’ll soon carry on with the “Passat” designs, as for the concerned clients, the Aargovian importer has ensured they have been contacted and informed in writing, as it was said “Now, they’ll have to register with a garage so they can agree on a date”.
Amag pointed out that the recall is made by group of cars, according to motor types. Two liter motors will be changed next March, the 1.2 liter on June and 1.6 on September.
Maintained capacities :
Motors of 1.2 and 2 liter need only a slight modification, it takes a half hour to be done, those with a 1.6 liter require a machine part which takes about forty five minutes, according to Amag these modifications will not change what so ever the car’s functions not even their CO2 production.
The federal office of roads (OFROU) values about 180.000 cars in different brands related to Volkswagen equipped with rigged diesel motors in Switzerland. The German manufacturer had recently said that he would pay the cars recall costs.
