It was the suggestion of Luxembourg Automotive Components Cluster which was approved by the ministry of economy as Etienne Schneider affirmed the news on Paperjam site.
The minister LSAP of economy explained “A new structure is dedicated to automotive sector will be available on Roost in a public-private partnership form. This campus will be a catalyst for the sector that would also do a research work and development”.
“The concept is to bring different actors in the same place to share infrastructure. In a short run, the R&D specialized site of automotive components will include 1600 persons”.
“Hugh potential for the next years”
It will be established at Roost in the town of Bissen. The area of 14 hectare belongs to Goodyear and is located next to its setups. The American original equipment manufacturer established at Colmar-Berg is one of the involved parts of the projects. “The site will offer synergy possibilities for the tests and the validating the prototypes, also taking into account the nearness of Colmar-Berg circuit, however, it won’t host industrial activities”.
The minister would also like IEE to be set in Echternach and its technical center in Contern or Delphi established at Bascharge.
“The automotive sector has big prospects and potential for the coming years, we don’t manufacture cars but we are well skilled in spare parts and components and we also have the privilege to be located in a center of the largest European manufacturing factories” said the minister again.
Etienne Scheinder intends to benefit of the combined elements in the sector to freshen and support the innovative campus.
