Switzerland : Genève Occasion has changed distribution network 2017-08-11
The Niortais specialist of the reusable auto parts left the Caréco cooperative network to enter the European leader of the spare part.
Genève Occasion has always been ahead in its field. By 1970, he had his spare parts store. Anxious to be always ahead of the market, and almost fifteen years after having contributed to the creation of the Caréco network, François Logeay, third owner of Genève Occasion (he just gave the reins to his son) Having initiated a big turn at the right time by selling the leader of the new spare part to Alliance Automotive Group (AAG). At the pediment of the shop and deconstruction factory of the street Jean-Jaurès in Niort, the giant sign Caréco disappeared.
"The cooperative structure had reached its limits"
With a European dimension, AAG distributes to professionals as well as individuals, in France, under the brands Group auto France, Précisium, Partner's and Gef'Auto. At the time of the development of the re-useable part, which must now be mandatorily proposed since the energy transition law of January 2016, François Logeay thus brought on a plate to Alliance Automotive, the know-how Genève Occasion.
Within this group, he is now working to bring together the biggest deconstructors of the hexagon, to supply the more than 1,000 French stores in the group with spare parts for which the garage customers demand are more and more important. "I sold the Ford dealership in 2009 to reconcile myself to the original job of Genève Occasion, the one of car demolition and used parts," says François Logeay.
The development of computer tools enabled us to give a reference to each part, to develop with the internet the trade of re-useable parts. Then the cooperative network Caréco allowed to give a serious image, referencing and guarantee to the re-use part and to leave the breakage. But this structure had, in my opinion, reached its limits. And because I observe the concentrations and needs of more and more volumes that could not be reached in a cooperative environment, I chose to sell. Being attached to a distributor ensures the sustainability and development of Genève Occasion. "
Already, the company has seen the ratio of spare parts extracted from a vehicle to be sold, going from 15 to 22. Genève Occasion brings to the network that it has integrated, the parts of some 6,000 to 7,000 cars deboned annually in Niort , On a volume of soon 100,000 vehicles "processed" on a group scale.
